this recipe was given to me and it was fantastic. (From Great American Recipes card series) Ingredients:
2 egg yolks |
2 tablespoons kahlua |
1/4 cup sugar |
3 ounces semisweet chocolate |
1/4 cup butter |
2 tablespoons kahlua |
2 egg whites |
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar |
1 cup whipping cream |
mint leaf, for garnish |
chocolate stick, for garnish |
Directions:
1. beat egg yolks and 2 tbsp kahlua in the top of a double boiler. 2. beat in 1/4 cup sugar and beat until slightly thickened,and color lightens. 3. place pan over boiling water. 4. cook stir until thickened,about ten minutes. 5. set top of double boiler in a bowl of cold water. 6. beat until mixture is thick, 3-4 minutes. 7. melt chocolate and butter together. 8. stir in remaining 2 tbsp Kahlua. 9. add to egg mixture. 10. beat whites until soft peaks form. 11. add remaining sugar. 12. Beat until stiff peaks form. 13. add to chocolate mixture. 14. beat whipping cream stiff. 15. fold into chocolate mixture. 16. spoon mousse into parfait glasses or dessert cups. 17. chill 3 hours before serving. |
