Dads recipe. I'm not sure how close it is to real Kaluah, 'cause I've never had anything but homemade. We drink it mixed with milk to taste(I like it about 1/2 and 1/2). Also good on ice cream, and some people put it in coffee. I want to try it in a Martini in Black . Enjoy Ingredients:
3 cups sugar |
3 cups water |
2 cups boiling water |
1/2 cup instant coffee |
2 tablespoons vanilla extract |
1 (750 ml) bottle vodka |
Directions:
1. 1. Boil sugar and 3 cups water over medium heat until thick and syrupy. Remove from heat and cool slightly. 2. 2. Combine boiling water, coffee and vanilla. Add to syrup. 3. 3. After the mixture has cooled at least to room temperature add vodka. We store it in vodka bottles and store it in the fridge, although I have never heard of it going bad on the counter. 4. Note: When I double this recipe I use a half gallon of vodka and just enjoy the extra alcohol content. |
