This recipe is from my neighbor's mother, June. It is delicious. We have had this in filled cookies, on sandwiches and on toast with butter - all too good! June uses all 5 cups of sugar while her son and I both reduce it. Ingredients:
6 cups italian plums, chopped |
2 cups raisins |
4 oranges, peeled and diced |
2 oranges, juice of |
1 orange, rind of |
3 -5 cups sugar |
2 cups nuts, chopped |
2 lemons, juice of |
Directions:
1. Grind all fruits to a medium chop consistency. Mix all together except nuts with sugar. Bring this to a boil and cook over medium/high heat until foaming stops. Add the nuts and cook to desired consistency. 2. Fill pints or half pints and water bath can for 10 minutes. 3. I stir this very often but depending on your pan you may not have to do this. |
