These huge cookies are a family favorite. No one can resist their sweet chocolaty taste.Lori Sporer, Oakley, Kansas Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening |
2/3 cup butter, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
2 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
3-1/2 cups king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips |
1 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans. Chill for at least 1 hour. 2. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks. Yield: 2 dozen. |
