Julie's Spicy Lasagna

This is a lasagna that I created one day...first time ever making it! It's quite fantastic; you can make it as spicy or not spicy as you want, and it is exceptionally flavourful!
Ingredients:
1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
1/2 medium yellow onion
300 g package pasta
250 g tomatoes
1/2 cup cottage cheese
5 ounces light mozzarella cheese
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp butter
1 salt, pepper, seasoning salt, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, cajun seasoning, italian seasoning to taste
Directions:
1. * You will need a 9 inch pie plate for this
2. Preheat oven to 375
3. Boil water for noodles; when water is boiling, add noodles
4. Melt butter
5. Cook onions until they're soft
6. Add beef and brown
7. Season as desired...I use a lot of everything!
8. Add can of tomatoes
9. Let simmer while you prep the cheese
10. Shred mozza
11. Let cottage cheese drain through sieve
12. Put a thin layer of meat mixture on pan
13. Put a layer of noodles on, ripping them up and placing as needed to get one even layer
14. Put a thin layer of cottage cheese on
15. Put a thin layer of mozza cheese on
16. Repeat as meat, noodles, cottage cheese, and then mozza cheese [I generally get 3 layers of everything]
17. Add a little meat and italian seasoning on top
18. Bake for ~15-20 minutes
19. Serves 8
