I picked up this recipe out in Texas. This Mexican inspired bread is good as an appetizer or the bread for the meal. I use canned chilies but for fresh just clean out the seeds and chop fine. Ingredients:
1 loaf french bread |
1 can chopped green chilies |
1 cup butter |
1 clove garlic |
1 cup mayonnaise |
8 oz. monterey jack cheese |
Directions:
1. Slice bread , toast on one side. 2. Mix chopped chilies with butter and garlic. 3. Spread the chili mix on the UNTOASTED side of the bread. 4. Mix mayo and cheese. 5. Spread on bread. Broil till brown and puffy. |
