This is adapted from a recipe I found on Foodgawker. Everyone loved it. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef, cooked and drained |
1 packet taco seasoning....i use best ever taco seasoning mix |
1/2-3/4 cup water |
1/2 cup sour cream |
1/2 cup mayonnaise |
8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded and divided |
1 onion, chopped |
1 green bell pepper, chopped |
2 1/4 cups bisquik mix |
2/3 cup milk |
2 tomatoes, sliced |
(4-ounce) can sliced jalapeno peppers |
Directions:
1. .Preheat oven to 325 2. I skillet, brown ground beef with onion and bell pepper 3. Add add taco seasoning and water and cook 4-5 minutes or until all the water is absorbed 4. In mixing bowl combine sour cream, mayonnaise and 4 ozs. cheddar cheese 5. In mixing bowl combine bisquick and milk to form soft dough 6. Pat dough on to bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of an 9 x 13 in. greased casserole dish 7. Add meat mixture to top of dough 8. Top that with tomato slices then jalapenos, the sour cream mixture and end with remaining shredded cheese 9. Bake 30-40 minutes or until edges of dough are lightly browned and cheese is good and melted |
