Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon |
2 teaspoons ground ginger |
1/2 teaspoon cloves |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
2 large eggs |
3/4 cup molasses |
Directions:
1. Sift the flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and baking soda in a bowl. 2. In a large mixing bowl, blend the butter and brown sugar until combined. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, and then the molasses. Slowly add the flour mixture. Mix well after each addition of flour. The dough will be stiff. 3. Divide dough in half, flatten into 2 thick circles and wrap in plastic wrap. 4. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm enough to roll out. 5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 6. Roll out, cut into desired shapes and bake until golden brown. |
