Mmmmm, love these. They last forever and stay delicious. I got this recipe from Sturbridge Village. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
7 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons ginger |
1/2 cup molasses |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 cup shortening |
1 cup water |
Directions:
1. Cream sugar and shortening. 2. Put baking soda in molasses. 3. Sift dry ingredients. 4. Alternate dry ingredients, watter, molasses/soda. 5. The dough will be sticky! Chill for at least four hours. 6. Scoop out w/ small ice cream scoop. Use a glass coated in sugar and water to flatten balls. 7. Bake 375 for 8-12 minutes. |
