I don't recall what cookbook I found this in, but posting for safe keeping. Ingredients:
8 cups rolled oats |
1 cup pecans, chopped |
1 cup almonds, chopped |
1 cup peanuts, chopped |
1 cup maple syrup |
1 cup safflower oil |
1 cup currants |
Directions:
1. Saute oats in small amount of oil in frying pan for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Place in bowl with all other ingredients. Mix well. 2. Spread on cookie sheet and bake until done but not burned - about 20 minutes. Keep mixing so bottom doesn't get burned. 3. The important thing about the ingredients is the ratio 8-1 between the rolled oats and everything else. |
