When my mother was in high school, she worked at a restaurant called Jimmy Paul's in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Growing up, we often had these sandwiches. When I told my husband about them, he thought they sounded crazy but enjoyed eating them. Ingredients:
salami |
american cheese |
vinegar |
oil |
salt and pepper |
chopped iceberg lettuce |
chopped green pepper |
chopped tomato |
chopped onion |
hoagie rolls or submarine sandwich bread (best if they are big and crusty) |
Directions:
1. Slice salami and cheese into 1/2 inch strips. 2. Cut buns open. 3. Put on buns in this order: Salami, cheese, lettuce, peppers, onions, tomatoes. 4. Sprinkle with vinegar and oil. 5. Top with salt and pepper. 6. Enjoy! |
