Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup butter or margarine |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
1 cup water |
1/4 cup chocolate syrup |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
chocolate frosting |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, sugar, and soda in a large mixing bowl, and set aside. 2. Combine butter, oil, water, and chocolate syrup in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Gradually stir into flour mixture. Stir in buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Pour into a greased 15- x 10- x 1-inch jellyroll pan. 3. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, and spread with Chocolate Frosting. |
