Rutabaga is a root vegetable similar to the turnip. I never had these until Daddy fixed them and they are so good! Don't knock 'em until you try 'em! Ingredients:
2 large rutabagas that have been peeled, cut into 2 cubes(the smaller you cut them, the faster they cook) |
5 or 6 smoked turkey necks |
olive oil |
seasoned salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Place rutabagas in water in a large boiler pot/pan that has a lid. 2. Put the smoked turkey necks with about 3 tablespoons olive oil. 3. Only enough water to cover the rutabagas and turkey necks 4. Cook on low/med heat for about 2 hours ...or until rutabagas are tender. 5.
