I used healthy choice tomato sauce (instead of the regular stuff)and also, the ground turkey I used was extra lean! Ingredients:
3/4 lb lean ground beef |
1/2 lb ground turkey |
3/4 cup chopped mushrooms |
3/4 cup chopped onion |
1/2 cup chopped celery |
1/3 cup chopped green pepper |
3/4 cup mild salsa |
1 tsp chopped garlic |
1 tsp chili powder |
1 serving diana smokehouse sauce |
1 dash oregano |
1 dash cumin |
13 oz no salt added tomato sauce |
1 cup red kidney beans |
2 cups water |
8 oz tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. Turn your slowcooker (crock pot) on high. 2. Chop up mushrooms, onion, celery and green pepper (and garlic if you don't have prechopped already). 3. Brown beef and turkey in a frying pan. 4. Put meat, seasonings, veggies, water and sauces in the slowcooker, leave for a 3 hours. 5. Add kidney beans, stir, leave for one more hour. |
