So delicious! This is my stepdaughter's pie, worked on to perfection. She made it more like a meatloaf, and it is fantastic. Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs beef shoulder, ground or 2 1/2 lbs ground sirloin |
33 butter flavored crackers, like ritz (1 sleeve) |
3 celery ribs, finely chopped |
1 large onion, finely chopped |
2 garlic cloves, minced or 2 teaspoons garlic powder |
2 teaspoons celery salt (no substitute) |
2 teaspoons marjoram |
2 eggs |
1 tablespoon milk |
steamed carrots or frozen peas or corn, do not use beans |
mashed potatoes, made with butter |
Directions:
1. FYI, she ground a beef shoulder roast in her food processor and it was awesome. I wonder if a butcher would do it for those who don't own one. 2. Combine everything except the steamed carrots and mashed potatoes. Cook in a 9 x 13 pan at 375°F for 30 minutes. 3. Layer vegetables over cooked meat. 4. Cover everything with mashed potatoes. Cook at 350°F for 15-20 minutes. |
