My kids wanted something cold, creamy and fruity. They had in mind Ice cream, but I was not going to the store. I had jello and evaporated milk. Cam asked Is that jello-thing-a-ma-jig ready yet? Cook time is freeze time Ingredients:
2 small boxes jello, (i had black cherry, but any flavor would do) |
2 cups hot water |
1 lg can evaporated milk - chilled |
Directions:
1. Disolve both boxes of jello in the hot water 2. When dislolved, pour in can of chilled evaporated milk 3. Stir until well blended. 4. Freeze for about 15 minutes, stir and return to freezer for another 15 minutes. 5. Leaving it in the freezer for 30 minutes sets it, so it's more like a custard consistancy. If you leave it in longer, it gets more of an ice cream/sherbert consistancy. |
