Another in my collection of post-war era recipes handed down from my mother. Ingredients:
1 large package of cherry jello |
2 cups of hot water |
1 cup of cold water |
1 pkg (8oz) philadelphia cream cheese |
3/4 cup of chopped walnuts |
1 can (14oz) crushed pineapple |
Directions:
1. Drain pineapple 2. Prepare jello using the two cups of hot water followed by the cold 3. Place 1/2 cup of jello and cream cheese in a blender and liquify 4. Add remaining jello, nuts, and pineapple to blender and gently stir to blend. 5. Pour into a chilled jelly mold. 6. Place the mold in the refigerator for 2 or 3 hours to firm. 7. This dessert becomes more elegant if served with whipped cream and decorated with fresh whole strawberries. |
