This recipe originates from a restaurant in Vancouver BC Canada named Ousi short for Louisiana on South Granville Street. Our friend Jeff, my Mom, my DH and I have had breakfast there many, many times and loved it. This is a recipe which comes from the same idea for their ranch dressing. Ingredients:
1 large onion, chopped |
1 tablespoon oil |
28 ounces diced tomatoes |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1 tablespoon paprika |
1 teaspoon ground cumin |
1 teaspoon ground coriander |
2 teaspoons mexican oregano |
Directions:
1. Sauté onion in oil over medium to high heat until soften. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Lower heat to medium or low. 4. Reduce sauce until blended to taste usually 15-20 minutes. 5. Unless you like a stronger taste reduce the sauce longer. |
