From my mom's Recipe Box Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 cup vegetable oil |
2 eggs |
1 ounce red food coloring |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 cups self rising flour |
1 teaspoon cocoa |
1 cup buttermilk |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/2 cups sweet milk |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup plain flour, cook until thick, then add |
1 cup nuts |
1 cup coconut |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Combine sugar, 1 cup vegetable oil, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla. 3. Mix well, then add self rising flour, cocoa, buttermilk and baking soda. 4. Mix well. 5. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. 7. After cake has cooled some, spread icing over cake. |
