This recipe has been passed down by my Japanese grandmother. Ingredients:
1/2 cup japanese soya sauce (light soya sauce) |
1/2 cup mirin (japanese cooking wine) |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 pinch ginger |
2 tablespoons honey |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 minced garlic clove |
Directions:
1. Heat all ingredients in a pot. 2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer to thicken the sauce. (about 15 minutes). 3. Remove from heat and cool. 4. This sauce can be stored in an air-tight jar in the refrigerator. |
