Japanese Style Chicken Marinade

I copied this onto an index card when I was much younger (in my early teens). I hope it was worth saving for so long! Makes enough marinade for 2 small chickens, split. Chicken only needs 1 hour marination, or more, then broil.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sherry wine
2 tablespoons horseradish
2 tablespoons onions, chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon powdered ginger
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Marinate the chicken in the mixture for 1 hour or more and broil, basting with the marinade at the beginning of the cooking.
