This is not Italian but it is very good - your kids will love it. I ate this almost every day in the cafeteria at work in Japan. I do not like most Japanese food and welcomed something that I sort of recognized. Ingredients:
1 lb hamburger |
1 (16 ounce) can sloppy joe sandwich sauce |
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes |
1/2 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon basil |
1/2 teaspoon parsley |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon onion powder |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1 pinch dried fennel |
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
Directions:
1. Brown hamburger. 2. Prepare sloppy joe mix according to directions. 3. Add remaining ingredients. 4. Simmer 30 minutes. 5. Serve over spaghetti topped with parmesan. |
