Jannid's Green Beans with Tomato and Onion |

caramelized onions, tomatoes & green beans! Way great. Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds green beans |
1/4 c olive oil |
1/2 t salt |
1 yellow onion |
3 t tomato paste |
1 t dark brown sugar |
3/4 c water |
1/4 t black pepper |
Directions:
1. Steam the trimmed beans til crisp tender - about 5-6 minutes. Refresh under cold water and pat dry. 2. In a large skillet, add olive oil over med high heat; add salt then sliced onion; reduce heat to medium or med low. 3. Gently saute til onion is rich golden brown - stir periodically to prevent scorching. 4. Add tomato paste, brown sugar, and water; stir well. Increase heat to med-high; add green beans and if you like, fresh cracked pepper and more salt. |
