A basic cornbread recipe with great flavor! I can get this cut into 16 sqares - so I counted each square as a serving! I serve this with Suzy's Hoppin' John Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal |
1/4 cup vegetable shortening, melted |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup evaporated milk |
1 egg, beaten |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients and pour in a 8x8 pan. 2. Bake at 400 F for 30-40 minutes. |
