My Grandma has been making this for years.It is a family favorite. She received the recipe from a church member during a potluck supper. It makes a large pot full. Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef |
2 (8 ounce) cans tomatoes |
1 (12 ounce) package velveeta cheese, cubes |
12 ounces egg noodles |
1 (6 ounce) can mushrooms |
1 (4 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts |
1 cup chopped onion |
1 cup chopped green pepper |
1 cup chopped celery |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Saute onion, green pepper, and celery. 2. Cook entire pkg of noodles. 3. Cook and drain ground beef. Add tomatoes and chili powder. Simmer. 4. Add mushroom and water chestnuts. 5. Add sautéed vegetables to ground beef mixture. 6. Drain noodles and add Velveeta. Stir to start the cheese melting. 7. Add meat mixture and mix well. |
