jalapenos Ingredients:
220 g jalapeno peppers |
130 g low fat cream cheese |
1/4 tsp fajita seasoning |
1/2 tsp garlic powder |
108 g bread crumbs, plain |
1/4 tsp chili powder |
2 egg whites |
1 tsp water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). 2. Mix together the egg whites and a teaspoon of water in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, salt, pepper, fajita seasoning and garlic powder. Set aside. 3. Combine cream cheese and diced jalapenos in a small bowl. 4. Cut jalapenos in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds. Stuff each jalapeno half with equal portions of the cheese mixture. Place the halves back together and secure with toothpicks. Dip each stuffed jalapeno in the egg mixture and then coat with the crumb mixture. Arrange the breaded peppers on a baking sheet. 5. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. |
