this is a variation in halwa Ingredients:
1 cup chopped jackfruit |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 tsp cardamom powder |
3 tblsp ghee (clarified butter) |
2 tsp cashwenuts (broken in halves) |
2 tsp almonds (cut into small pieces) |
2 tsp raisins (dry grapes) |
1/4 cup water |
Directions:
1. Heat Ghee in a kadai. Fry Cashwenuts & Raisins. Remove & keep aside. 2. Add Water to the same kadai. When it starts to boil add Sugar, mix well & boil until 1 string consistency. 3. Add Jackfruit pieces. Reduce to Medium heat, stir well & boil till the pieces are soft & the mixture is thick in consistency. 4. Add fried Cashwenuts, Almonds & Raisins. Mix well & remove from heat. Add Cardamom powder & mix. 5. Grease a plate with little Ghee. Pour the mixture into the greased plate & allow to cool. When the halwa is warm to touch, dip a knife in warm water, wipe it & then cut into pieces. |
