From the Jack Daniels kitchens for this delcious beef brisket. I normally cook my brisket the day before as suggested- its easier to slice and reheat! Ingredients:
1 4 to 6 lb beef brisket |
1 onion chopped |
1/4 cup jack daniels whiskey |
1/4 cup soy sauce |
1/4 cup ketsup |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup cider vinegar |
2 tbs dijon mustard |
1 tbs worchestershire sauce |
2 cloves garlic minced |
1/2 tsp liquid smoke |
black pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Prehat oven to 300F 2. Place brisket fat side up in pan 3. Sprinkle with the chopped onion 4. Combine remaining ingredients in a measure cup 5. Pour over the brisket 6. Cover roasting pan tightly with foil 7. Bake 4 hours or until internal temp is 190F and meat is tender 8. let sit 10 mins before carving against the grain 9. Note: even better: cook a day ahead of time 10. Remove brisket from drippings 11. Cover brisket with foil and chill ovrnight 12. Refrigerate drippings and skim off fat 13. Slice chilled brisket 14. Combine sliced meat with the pan drippings, place in roasting pan and gently reheat at 325F about 30 mins or well heated |
