This is a great recipe for combined flavors. You get the smoky flavor right along with the sweet and savory to make a great bean recipe sure to be loved by all. Ingredients:
2 slices thick bacon diced |
1 medium white onion diced |
15 ounces canned pork and beans drained |
1/2 cup dark brown sugar |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 tablespoon liquid smoke |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan cook bacon pieces until they just begin to brown. 2. Remove bacon from pan and drain but retain grease. 3. Aadd onion and sauté until tender. 4. Add remaining ingredients and bring to slow boil. 5. Simmer 30 minutes. 6. Allow to cool for one hour before serving. |
