Be sure to use cooked turkey within the week for safety and best freshness. To freeze cooked turkey, wrap large pieces in plastic wrap, then in butcher paper or foil. 2 tsp olive oil |
1/2 cup diced onion |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
15 oz crushed tomatoes |
2 tbsp red wine |
1.76 g (2 tsp) minced fresh oregano |
3 cups cooked turkey, cubed (preferably white meat) |
2 tbsp minced fresh basil |
2 tbsp capers |
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and saute for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and saute for 2 more minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes and wine. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes. |
