Italian Style Fried Cheese

This is a tried and true recipe and one that takes a little effort but well worth it. When I make this I always triple the recipe and there are never any left. Enjoy
Ingredients:
1 pound of mozzarella cheese cut in rectangles
2 eggs well beaten
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic crushed
28 ounce can crushed italian tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed oregano
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon crushed dried basil
Directions:
1. In three separate bowls put eggs, flour and seasoned dry bread crumbs.
2. Dip cheese in egg then flour then egg then crumbs.
3. Place on wax paper then refrigerate 1 hour.
4. Fry cheese in olive oil turning once then drain and serve with sauce.
5. To make sauce heat 1 tablespoon olive oil then brown garlic and remove.
6. Add crushed tomatoes and seasonings then simmer 45 minutes uncovered.
