I picked up some Sicilian taste the difference sausages on offer from Sainsbury turned out very yummy husband loved it Ingredients:
400 g italian sausage (i used sainsbury taste the difference sicilian sausages) |
low-fat cooking spray |
150 g mushrooms |
2 red onions, chopped |
1 red pepper, thinly sliced |
1 (400 g) plum tomatoes (tinned) |
1 tablespoon tomato paste |
300 ml water |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar |
black pepper |
300 g pasta |
Directions:
1. On a George foreman grill cook the sausage for approximately 15 minutes until cooked through. 2. Heat the cooking spray in a frying pan and fry the onions for approximately 5 minutes, add the mushrooms, peppers, balsamic and herbs and cook for a further 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste and water. Bring to boil and simmer gently for 45 minutes. 3. Cook pasta according to packet instructions. 4. Add sausages to sauce and heat through, serve over pasta. |
