Delicious rice balls, use as an appetizer or a side dish. I even make these in my Foods class. the kids love them. Ingredients:
6 cups water |
3 cups carolina rice |
2 tbsp. butter |
1 pkg. of shredded mozzarella cheese |
5 beaten eggs |
bowl of bread crumbs |
bowl of marinara sauce |
1 cup grated romano cheese |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Boil water, add salt, 1 Tbsp. butter and rice. 2. Cook for 20 minutes. 3. After the rice sets a short time; add 2 beaten eggs, 1 Tbsp. butter, one tsp salt, Marinara sauce for color, (colors the rice a nice pink) Mozzarella, and grated Romano. 4. Mix until well blended and cheese begins to melt. 5. Form balls with rice mixture. 6. Dip the rice balls into the remaining 3 beaten eggs, and then roll in bread crumbs. 7. Deep fry until golden. |
