Adding Italian spices to mashed potatoes adds so much flavor. Ingredients:
6 russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks |
1 cup vegetable broth |
1 teaspoon dried thyme |
1 teaspoon dried rosemary |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon dried parsley |
1 teaspoon dried sage |
1 teaspoon minced garlic |
Directions:
1. Place the potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and allow to steam dry for a minute or two. Return the drained potatoes to the pot. 2. Pour the vegetable broth, thyme, rosemary, oregano, basil, onion powder, parsley, sage, and garlic over the potatoes; mash with a potato masher. |
