A friend and I came up with this one to go with our seafood bisque. We had 3/4 cup wheat flour and 1-1/2 cups bread flour leftover from other baking, so we used these and finished the bread with all purpose flour. Hope you enjoy. Ingredients:
1 cup warm water |
1 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast (or 1 packet) |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon italian seasoning |
1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese |
3 cups flour, and enough more to knead into dough |
Directions:
1. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in large mixing bowl. 2. Let stand for 15 minutes. 3. Mince garlic. 4. Saute garlic in olive oil, let cool. 5. When garlic/oil is cooled, add to yeast mixture. 6. Add salt, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese and mix well. 7. Add 3 cups flour and mix. 8. Knead enough flour into mix to make dough consistency. 9. Cover baking stone lightly in cornmeal or grease a loaf pan. 10. Form a ball and place on stone, or form a loaf and place in loaf pan. 11. Spray saran wrap with cooking spray and cover dough. Cover with a hand towel. 12. Let dough rise until doubled in size (1 to 1-1/2 hours). 13. Uncover and bake 25-30 minutes at 375°F. |
