Found this dip recipe on the back of a tomato can. Haven't tried it yet and am posting it so I don't lose it. If you try it please let me know what you think. Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened |
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
3 drops hot sauce |
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese |
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes with garlic and olive oil, drained |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons chopped green peppers |
2 tablespoons thinly slice green onions |
breadsticks or tortilla chips |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, cayenne pepper and hot sauce. Spread in an ungreased, 9in microwave-safe pie plate. 2. Combine cheese and sprinkle half over the cream cheese. Combine diced tomatoes and toaato sauce in a bowl. 3. Top the cheese with tomato mixture, green pepper and green onion; top with remaining cheese. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes or until cheese is almost melted, rotating a half turn several times. Let stand 1-2 minutes. Serve with breadsticks or tortilla chips. |
