This was an old weight watchers recipe that I revamped. It had Canadian bacon which I sub for Italian sausage (I use more or less depending on what I feel like) because it tastes more Italian this way.
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves
10 ounces kidney beans
14 1/2 ounces italian-style tomatoes
8 ounces italian sausage
1/4 cup dry red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper
bow tie pasta
Directions:
1. brown sausage with onions.
2. add garlic, beans, tomatoes, red wine vinegar and spices. Simmer.
3. Cook bowtie pasta. Drain.
4. Combine the sauce and pasta and serve.
