This was an old weight watchers recipe that I revamped. It had Canadian bacon which I sub for Italian sausage (I use more or less depending on what I feel like) because it tastes more Italian this way. Ingredients:
1 cup chopped onion |
2 garlic cloves |
10 ounces kidney beans |
14 1/2 ounces italian-style tomatoes |
8 ounces italian sausage |
1/4 cup dry red wine vinegar |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
bow tie pasta |
Directions:
1. brown sausage with onions. 2. add garlic, beans, tomatoes, red wine vinegar and spices. Simmer. 3. Cook bowtie pasta. Drain. 4. Combine the sauce and pasta and serve. |
