A friend brought this cake recipe from Israel. Taysha means 9's as you will see in the recipe. A very basic but nice cake Ingredients:
9 egg yolks room temp |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
9 tbs oil |
9 tbs flour |
9 egg whites room temp |
9 tbs sugar |
5 oz baking semi-sweet chocolate grated |
5 oz grated sweet coconut |
Directions:
1. Beat the yolks, oil , and 1 1/2 cups sugar until pale and fluffy 2. Add and blend in flour until well mixed and pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan. 3. Beat egg whites stiff as you gradually add the 9 Tbs sugar 4. Fold in coconut and chocolate into whites. 5. Spread over the cake batter 6. Bake in a preheated 350F oven 30 minutes or until tested done by testing with tooth pick. 7. Cool |
