This cake is at its best after it sits for about 8 hours. Yum! Ingredients:
1 box spice cake mix |
1 large package vanilla pudding |
3/4 cups milk |
1/2 cup oil |
3/4 cups irish whiskey |
4 large eggs |
1/3 cup chopped walnuts |

1 stick butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon water |
2 teaspoons whiskey |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 2. Blend cake mix and pudding mix in a large bowl 3. In a separate bowl, blend milk, oil and whiskey, then add to dry ingredients 4. Mix for 2 minutes by hand, make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl 5. Pour into a lightly greased tube pan 6. Sprinkle with walnuts 7. Bake approximately 1 1/2 hours, until lightly browned on top 8. Remove from oven and leave it in the pan 9. In a saucepan, heat butter until melted 10. Add sugar, water and whiskey, stir 11. Lightly boil for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and cool for 3 minutes 12. Pour over cake while it is still in the pan 13. Let cool for 1 hour, then remove from the pan right side up, and place on a cake plate 14. Best results if left overnight |
