                    This oatmeal make from steel cut oats takes a while to cook but has a nice nutty flavor and firmer texture unlike the regular pasty oatmeal. This recipe is slightly altered from Alton Brown's. I used all milk in place of half milk half buttermilk. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1 t butter  |  
                                                1 c steel cut oats  |  
                                                3 c water  |  
                                                1 c milk  |  
                                                1/4 c brown sugar  |  
                                                1 t cinnamon  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Melt butter in heavy sauce pan 2. Add oats and stir for 2 minutes to toast 3. Add 3 cups boiling water 4. Reduce heat to maintain a low simmer 5. Cook for 25 min 6. Add the milk 7. Cook and additional 10 minutes 8. Add desired brown sugar and cinnamon to individual bowls.                              |
