This applesauce cake will go good with any meal to top it off....A good desert with coffee to serve guests. Ingredients:
3 cups sifted flour |
3/4 cup sugar |
3 egg yolks |
1 cup unsalted butter |
zest of one lemon |
2 cups applesauce |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
Directions:
1. In big bowl mix flour, sugar, egg yolks, butter and zest together;
2. divide into 2 equal parts.
3. Press 1 part into well greased pan.
4. Mix applesauce and spices; spread over dough.
5. Sprinkle remaining dough over applesauce.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
7. Top with whipped cream or lemon sauce.
