Irene was a neighbor of my Grandmama when (I'm assuming) my dad was younger. My Grandmama says this is the best Pumpkin Bread recipe. Ingredients:
1 cup nuts |
3 1/2 cups flour |
3 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups pumpkin |
4 eggs |
1 cup olive oil |
2/3 cup water |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Sift all dry ingredients together. 2. Put pumpkin, eggs, oil and water in a bowl and mix until smooth. 3. Add vanilla and nuts to the liquid ingredients and mix in the dry ingredients until blended smooth. 4. Put in 3 well greased loaf pans. 5. Bake at 350 F for 1 hour or until done. |
