This tastes remarkably similar to the maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal varieties you buy in little packets. Save money by making your own! For each batch of oatmeal, combine 2/3 cup quick-cooking oats with 1 to 2 tablespoons of mix; add boiling water until desired consistency is reached. Ingredients:
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder |
1 cup confectioners' sugar |
2/3 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice |
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine the powdered milk, confectioners' sugar, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, and cardamom in a bowl. Stir to mix thoroughly, and store in an airtight container. |
