A super filling nutritious quick breakfast or snack. Customize the recipe with your favourite nuts, seeds, and fruit. Chia is an ancient Mesoamerican super food, high in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Ingredients:
3/4 c chia seeds |
1/2 c quinoa flakes (and/or instant/quick oats) |
1 c chopped dates (and/or dried figs, or other dried fruit) |
1/2 c chopped walnuts (and/or pecans, almonds, cashews...) |
1/4 c pepitas (and/or sunflower seeds, shredded coconut...) |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1/8 tsp sea salt (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients and keep in sealed container. 2. To make one serving: In a small bowl combine about 1/4 c of cereal into 1/4 - 1/3 c boiling hot water* (or hot milk or milk substitute) and mix well.
