This dish comes from chef John of Foodwishes. Check out his site. I am making this dish to honor Obama's inaguration next week I hope you enjoy it :) Ingredients:
indonesian hot and sticky chicken wings |
5 pounds chicken wings |
salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste |
3 tbsp frank's hot sauce |
2 tbsp veg oil |
1 c flour |
for the glaze |
3 crushed garlic cloves |
2 tbsp grated ginger |
1 tbsp sambal chili sauce (or 1/2 tsp hot pepper flakes) |
1/2 cup rice vinegar |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1 tsp soy sauce |
Directions:
1. Disjoint the wings cutting the tips off and separating the drummies and wings. 2. Salt and Pepper liberally to taste. 3. Place into a 1 gallon ziploc bag. 4. Sprinkle the Hot Sauce overall. 5. Add the oil. 6. Coat evenly by squeezing and smooching the bag all over. 7. Line a sheet pan with foil. I use the easy release kind or spray with cooking spray. 8. Preheat the oven to 400*F 9. Place flour into a new LOL small kitchen garbage bag. 10. Add the chicken Shake to coat. 11. Place chicken onto the sheet pan. (It takes two). 12. Spray all of the wings with cooking spray. 13. Bake for 30 minutes per side. 14. Place chicken into a large bowl. 15. Make glaze by placing all the ingredients into a small saucepan bring to a boil lower heat and whisk until the sugar is melted. 16. Coat with glaze. This may take a couple of bowls full. 17. Place back on sheet pan and cool for a couple of minutes so people don't burn their mouths. Cause they will eat them as soon as you put them out. Make more you will need them. |
