Indonesian Fried Chicken In Soy Sauce Gravy |

This dish goes perfectly with steamed rice. Ingredients:
1 chicken, cut into small pieces |
1 tbsp tamarind juice |
salt to taste |
oil for deep frying |
4 cloves garlic, grind |
1 tsp chopped ginger |
1 tbsp margarine |
7 shallots, finely sliced |
5 tbsp sweet soy sauce |
2 tomatoes, chopped coarsely |
3 cm cinnamon stick |
1/4 bruised nutmeg |
2 cloves |
1/2 tsp pepper |
500 cc chicken stock |
300 grams peeled potatoes, cut into 4-6 pieces then fried and drained |
25 grams galss noodles, soaked in water till tender, cut into 10 cm lengths |

Directions:
1. Rub chicken with tamarind juice and salt. 2. Let it stand for 10 minutes, then deep-fry until golden brown. 3. Heat margarine and saute shallots until soft, then add ground garlic and ginger, sweet soy sauce and chopped tomato. Saute untill fragrant. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, pepper and chicken stock, and bring to boil. When the gravy is boiling, add fried chicken. Simmer until the chicken is tender and the spices are absorbed. 4. Add fried potatoes and glass noodles, and continue to cook a while. 5. Garnish with fried shallots. |
