Meatloaf - one of the all time greatest comfort foods. In a household with two three year olds and two working parents, you have to look for ways to reduce the time necessary to cook dinner. For meatloaf, in a the typical 2 pond loaf form, you need at least an hour. I can cut the cook time in half by just making the loaves smaller. Update: My original submission had too much salt. This update should fix it. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 cup 2% low-fat milk |
1 egg |
1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs |
1 tablespoon dehydrated onion |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl (hands work well for this). 3. Form mixed ingredients into 4 to 5 oblong loaves and place on a broiling pan (to allow fat to drip away). 4. Bake on the middle rack for 20 - 30 minutes or until juice runs clear. |
