Traditional Indian Dish Ingredients:
2 cups long-grain white rice |
1/4 cup of water |
1 tbs sugar |
1 package of raw spinach |
1/8 cup butter |
1 cup of low-fat yogurt |
2 tbs curry powder |
1 tbs turmeric |
1 tbs anise seed |
1 tbs cardamom powder |
1 tbs fenugreek seed |
Directions:
1. Start the long-grain white rice as directed on package. 2. Dissolve sugar in hot water. 3. Cut spinach up into strips and fry in clarified butter. 4. Add water and simmer for 5 min. 5. Add yogurt and spices to taste and simmer until moist, but not runny. 6. Serve on top of rice. Optional sides/toppings include fetta cheese and naan (indian flat bread.) 7. ENJOY |
