The mixture is served chilled. Raita has a cooling effect on the palate that makes it a good choice along with spicy foods such as currys. Raita is also eaten with kebabs. Ingredients:
1 cup cucumber, grated |
1 cup plain 1% yogurt |
2 tablespoons mint, chopped |
1 teaspoon cumin seed |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Grate cucumber and let sit in strainer over a bowl for about 30 minutes. 2. Place cucumber and remaining ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. |
