Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lard, melted
butter or margarine
Directions:
1. Combine cornmeal and milk; mix well. Add salt and lard, and stir well.
2. Drop batter by 2 tablespoonfuls onto a hot, lightly greased griddle. Turn cakes when tops are bubbly and edges are browned. Serve hot with butter.
